Adam Mighton is the Chief Operating Officer and a project manager at Mighton Construction Limited, the Wasaga Beach builder his family has run since 1992. He brings a CPA, CGA, and BBA background to the business, and it shows in how he works with clients: he helps homeowners understand budgets, timelines, scope, and the decisions that drive a project, and keeps communication clear from planning through completion.
He also serves as Vice President of the South Georgian Bay Building Association, the regional body for builders and contractors, giving him a close view of construction standards and practices across the area.
The family’s building roots run deeper than the company itself. Adam’s maternal grandfather, Don Hawkey, founded Don Hawkey Construction in 1967, beginning a church-construction legacy that Mighton Construction carries forward today with more than 400 church projects completed across Ontario.
Adam writes here about what he sees on real South Georgian Bay projects — custom homes, renovations, ICF construction, budgeting, and the practical realities of building in this region. In 2026 Mighton Construction was named Canadian Choice General Contractor of the Year for Wasaga Beach, the year after the Wasaga Beach Chamber of Commerce recognized the company as Trades Business of the Year.
