Kitchen Renovations in Wasaga Beach

The kitchen is the heart of every Wasaga Beach home—whether you are entertaining guests after a day at the beach or gathering the family for a holiday meal. Mighton Construction delivers kitchen renovations that combine beautiful design with practical functionality, tailored to the way Wasaga Beach homeowners actually use their spaces. From modest galley kitchen updates to complete gut renovations with structural changes, we bring the same level of craftsmanship to every project.

Many Wasaga Beach homes were built during the community's residential boom and now feature dated layouts, worn cabinetry, and inefficient use of space. Our renovation process begins with a thorough design consultation where we assess your existing kitchen, discuss your priorities, and develop a plan that maximizes both function and aesthetics. We source quality Canadian-made cabinetry, durable countertop materials like quartz and granite, and energy-efficient appliances that suit your budget and style.

Every kitchen renovation we complete in Wasaga Beach is managed from start to finish by our in-house team. We coordinate all trades—plumbing, electrical, tiling, and finishing—to ensure the project stays on schedule and meets our exacting quality standards. The result is a kitchen that adds lasting value to your home and makes daily living more enjoyable.

Budget

What a Kitchen Renovation Costs in Wasaga Beach

Plan for $50,000 to $150,000+ for a quality full renovation. The lower half of that range covers new cabinetry, counters, backsplash, and lighting in the existing layout; the upper half brings layout changes, relocated plumbing, engineered openings for open-concept living, and premium surfaces. Many Wasaga Beach homes from the 1980s and 1990s also need an electrical panel upgrade to carry modern appliance loads—we identify that up front, not as a surprise. Every project is priced open-book, line by line, before demolition day.

Beach-town living

Kitchens Built for Beach-Town Living

A Wasaga Beach kitchen works differently than a city kitchen: more people in bathing suits, more sand, more big casual meals on summer weekends. We design for that reality—durable porcelain and quartz surfaces, islands with seating for the whole crowd, and layouts that flow to the deck and outdoor living space. If your plans are bigger than the kitchen alone, we regularly pair kitchen renovations with additions or full cottage-to-home conversions so the whole property gets there in one coordinated project.

Our Kitchen Renovations Process

01

Design Consultation

We assess your existing kitchen, discuss how you use the space, review your goals and budget, and explore layout options that improve function and flow.

02

Design Development & Selections

Working with our design partners, we finalize the layout, select cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, tile, and appliances, and prepare a detailed scope and budget.

03

Pre-Construction

We order long-lead materials (cabinetry and countertops can take 6–12 weeks), secure any required permits, and schedule trades.

04

Demolition & Rough-In

We remove the existing kitchen, make structural modifications if needed, and rough in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC changes.

05

Installation & Finishing

Cabinetry, countertops, tile, fixtures, appliances, and all finishing details are installed with precision and care.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a kitchen renovation take in Wasaga Beach?
A typical full kitchen renovation takes 6 to 10 weeks from demolition to completion, depending on the scope. Custom cabinetry orders may add lead time. We provide a detailed project timeline before work begins so you can plan accordingly.
Can you open up a wall to create an open-concept kitchen in my Wasaga Beach home?
Yes. Many Wasaga Beach homes—particularly those built in the 1980s and 1990s—have closed-off kitchen layouts. We regularly remove or modify walls, including load-bearing walls with proper engineering support, to create open-concept kitchen and living spaces.
Do you handle all trades for the kitchen renovation?
We manage the entire renovation, including plumbing, electrical, flooring, drywall, painting, cabinetry installation, and countertop templating. You have a single point of contact throughout the project.
How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Wasaga Beach?
Quality full kitchen renovations typically range from $50,000 to $150,000+, depending on the size of the space, whether walls move, cabinetry quality, and finishes. Structural changes and large open-concept conversions push toward the higher end. We provide a detailed, open-book budget before any demolition begins.
Do you renovate kitchens in Wasaga Beach cottages?
Yes. Cottage kitchens are a specialty — often paired with four-season upgrades so the kitchen works as hard in January as in July. We choose materials that handle sand, humidity, and heavy summer use, and we can coordinate the kitchen as part of a larger cottage conversion.
Do you provide kitchen design, or do we need our own designer?
Both work. We provide design through our cabinetry and design partners and can take the project from concept to completion — or we will build from plans your own designer has prepared. Either way, one team is accountable for the finished kitchen.
Who supplies the appliances?
Usually you choose and purchase appliances (we are glad to advise on selections and sizes), and we handle everything they need: gas lines, dedicated circuits, water lines, ventilation, and precise cabinetry openings so installation day is uneventful.
How do we cook while the kitchen is torn out?
Most clients set up a temporary kitchen — microwave, kettle, air fryer, and a small fridge in another room — and we can often keep your old fridge running nearby. We sequence the work to keep the no-kitchen window as short as possible and give you the schedule up front.
Do you install kitchens supplied by a big-box store?
Generally no. We are a full-service renovation company, not an installation crew — our value is managing the whole project to one standard: structure, mechanicals, cabinetry, stone, tile, and finishing. That is how the result ends up seamless.
How does your open-book, cost-plus pricing work?
You pay the actual cost of materials, labour, and subcontractors, plus a clearly defined management fee — and you see every invoice along the way. There are no hidden markups or padded allowances. It keeps our interests aligned with yours: we have no incentive to cut corners, because we do not profit from the difference.
Do you handle building permits and inspections?
Yes. Depending on the project scope, we coordinate or fully manage permits with the municipality, arrange required inspections, and handle conservation authority applications where properties in Wasaga Beach need them. Every project we build is permitted and inspected.
Can you work from plans we already have?
Absolutely. We regularly price and build from completed architectural drawings. If you are earlier in the process, we can also coordinate design and pre-construction planning with architects, designers, and engineers we trust.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Mighton Construction Limited carries $5 million in aggregate liability coverage and maintains WSIB coverage for applicable work, with clearance information available on request. All work is built to Ontario Building Code and inspected by the local building department.
What happens after I submit the contact form?
We aim to respond to serious project enquiries within 1–2 business days. The first step is a free phone conversation about your goals, timing, location, and rough budget. If the project is a good fit, we arrange a site visit and provide early guidance and a ballpark estimate.
How far in advance should we get in touch?
Earlier than you think. We intentionally take on a limited number of projects each year so Jeff and Adam stay personally involved in every one — which means our calendar fills ahead of the season. Talking early also gives design, permits, and material lead times the room they need.
