What is ICF construction?
ICF construction stands for Insulated Concrete Forms. It is a building method that creates highly durable, energy-efficient walls using interlocking foam forms filled with reinforced concrete. The forms stay in place after the pour, so the finished wall carries continuous insulation on both faces of a solid concrete core.
It suits custom homes, basements, cottages, and church buildings in Ontario because it handles freeze-thaw cycles, snow loads, and temperature extremes better than traditional wood framing. The concrete core adds mass that steadies indoor temperatures, and the continuous foam removes the thermal bridging you get through studs.
